About the Instructor

I am a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), the American College of Musicians and the National Guild of Piano Teachers. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Throughout the last 25 years I have taught music in schools and have worked as the vocal and/or musical director for theatre companies throughout the Bay Area. I have been teaching private voice lessons for over 17 years. I have been employed as choir and music theory teacher at the Middle and High School levels, most recently at The Athenian School in Danville. I have also worked as the Level II Director and voice coach with the nationally acclaimed San Francisco Girls Chorus (the chosen group to sing with San Francisco Opera and San Francisco Symphony). In addition, I have been a musical theatre performer, a professional pianist and opera singer, and singer/songwriter/keyboardist for an 80's rock band.

I continue to find joy in teaching adults, teens and pre-teens on an individual level to help improve musicianship while helping all to find the true beauty and power of the natural singing voice, whatever the style or genre they chose to sing.
